Andrea Maack, Where Art Meets the Skin

Born from the world of conceptual art, Andrea Maack doesn’t just make perfume. She creates wearable art. What began as an experimental installation in Iceland has evolved into a luxury fragrance house that bridges the gap between art, fashion, and emotion. Each perfume feels like a gallery piece that’s come alive, abstract, tactile, and deeply personal.

As a visual artist, Maack approaches scent like she does her paintings and sculptures: through texture, movement, and contrast. She once said, “Scent travels like a brushstroke, across skin and through air.” Her fragrances do exactly that. They draw invisible lines that linger, connecting people to memories, materials, and moments.

The Brand

Founded in 2017 in Reykjavik, Andrea Maack is a modern luxury brand built on the values of artistic integrity and conscious craftsmanship. Every detail, from ingredient sourcing to packaging, is designed to feel both contemporary and considered.

Each formula is composed of 88–89% natural ingredients, with up to 80% certified organic, all blended using 100% organic Icelandic alcohol and water. The remaining few ingredients are synthetic alternatives chosen only when nature needs a rest, a quiet act of sustainability that speaks louder than any marketing buzzword.

All perfumes are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and ethically sourced. This is artistry that respects both planet and body.

The Fragrances

Andrea Maack’s creations live at the intersection of art and emotion. They’re not designed to please everyone, they’re designed to move you.

Her collection spans across distinct olfactive moods:
Amber & Musk, sensual and soft with moss and cedarwood.
Citrus compositions, bright yet grounded with fig, pepper, and suede.
Flower-inspired scents, blending violet, jasmine, and marine accords with a surreal edge.
Vanilla-forward blends, smoky, gourmand, and magnetic.
And Wood and Oud scents, built from rich cardamom, leather, and cold metal notes, an artist’s exploration of contrast in scent form.

Each perfume carries the DNA of Iceland: minimalist yet emotional, wild yet controlled, effortlessly cool.

The Visionary

Before fragrance, Andrea Maack made her name in the art world through painting, installation, and sculpture. Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured in Vogue, Dazed, Forbes, and AnOther Magazine. What makes her perfumes so distinct is that she treats them as part of the same creative continuum, expressions of texture, light, and feeling.

Her approach is conceptual yet sensual, clean yet unapologetically bold. Think Icelandic clarity with a shot of attitude.

Why We Love It

Because Andrea Maack is proof that minimalism can still be maximal in emotion. Her work challenges the idea that clean, sustainable perfume must smell simple. Instead, every creation feels like a piece of art, complex, deliberate, and alive.

At Fragrance Artisans, we love that her scents look as striking as they smell. Sleek, modern, and sculptural, they’re made to be displayed, not hidden away. In a world full of sameness, Andrea Maack reminds us that perfume can still surprise.
